I made my first pot on a potter’s wheel when I was fifteen and today I made my most recent pot. In between has been fifty years of teaching, raising a family, building a house and a studio. While pottery has always been that thing that brought me great satisfaction and enjoyment, it’s only been in the last ten years that I’ve been able to devote myself to it full time.

I make functional stoneware in Northfield, Vermont. My work is first and foremost, utilitarian and meant to be used. I make pots that I want to use.

My pots are fired in a propane fueled kiln that I constructed and that sits adjacent to my studio. The kiln is heated to over 2300 degrees Fahrenheit, takes a day to fire and another day to cool. Typically I fire the kiln about six times in a year.

I am always open to receiving visitors, with some notice. My work is sold from my website, my studio as well as in Northfield at Art, etc.

I hope you enjoy using my pottery as much as I do making it.
